Traditional rural life with incursions of modern.

Stopped at a market en route with crazy traffic.
The village was surrounded with beautiful rice paddies.
This fellow busted through the waddle fence and trotted off. Buffalos very valuable, $1-2,000, but lots of them.
The roof below is made of asbestos banned decades ago in USA. One house had roof run-off from it going into their water tanks. When the water evaporates or is sprayed, people inhale the dangerous dust.
Women have an especially hard life, here collecting firewood.
The differences between little boys and girls are just the same. The boys held out their play weapons and dukes, the girls ran and smiled.
A formal shop. Many houses sell crafts, much seem to be manufactured.
The work of rural life absolutely genuine. Our 70 year old hostess below, with teeth blacked by the mood-enhancing betel juice, is sharpening her knife on a stone.

Marty looks very happy by that fish carcass

This is Dave. I thought Marty was admiring a cow carcass. That fish was huge!

I think a water buffalo carcass. You’re right, not a fish.
