From Laos to Hanoi

He had to walk his heavy steel material but bikes, mostly motor, carry everything including sheet rock.

Handy shelves on this high power post.

Amazingly beautiful food. Even our chain hotel had a stupendous buffet of about 8 food ladened tables just for breakfast.

This copy shop can use a little prayer for that old machine.

Even if signalized everyone goes in every direction, red lights don’t apply to motor bikes and pedestrians, according to Marty, just walk out at a steady pace and traffic flows around them.  They need some planning!

Imagine if she and her her crockery fell down.

How smart to have a huge lake in the middle of town.

We are very excited to see the set up for a big flower festival tonight. They are shutting down a large district to traffic tonight for the weekend. Not sure yet if this is just our weekend or everyone but will make a vast improvement to have no honking, motor noise and scary walking.

We are standing in front of the gate to Jade Island in the middle of the lake, Jade. I’ve seen no official signs in English or French–except the Dept. Of Finance in English. Some tourist vendor signs in English only.

I miss Luang Prabang–but so glad Marty joined. He agrees with Anthony Bourdain, Jill, that Han Noi is the best. Pricing apartments. See the English labeling in Laos?

  1. Great pic of you and Marty. So much fun!
Now is the Silk worm Poo Tea for human or plant consumption? Sounds yucky. You should have Marty set up a blog too. It’s fun to travel with you two.
    Have fun.
